Chernobyl: The Nuclear Disaster From Yuviverse,  Hello everybody, I am back with a new topic for Yuviverse. This time, I have tried to combine Science and History to make our topic more interesting. Then, let's begin, shall we? At 1:23 a.m. on April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine exploded, creating what many consider the worst nuclear disaster the world has ever seen. Even after many unanswered questions about the Chernobyl accident. Especially, regarding the long-term health impacts that the massive radiation leak will have on those who were exposed. The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is located about 81 miles north of the city of Kyiv, Ukraine and about 12 miles south of the border with Belarus. It consists of four reactors that were designed and built during the 1970s and 1980s. A manmade reservoir, roughly 22 square kilometres in size was created to provide cooling water for the reactor. Roman Culture & Lifestyle: Knowledge is social power. Hello, guys, I am back, I know you all have not seen me for a while, but I am back and this time not with a new topic but the same as the first topic or you could call it a sequel. Last time, I had shared information about the Roman Empire, Inventions, Laws, and Gods. But this time we are going to know about their culture and lifestyle. Now let’s begin, shall we? By around 300 AD, Rome was the largest city in the world. The government was run by rich nobles and knights. Ordinary citizens were poor, but they had the right to vote and serve in the army. Slaves had no rights at all. Did you know about a trade called the “slave trade”? Slaves were bought and sold at slave markets. They were shown to the citizens to be chosen or rejected. Our topic was based on metals. In that, our teacher mentioned a little bit about one of the rarest metals on Earth. That, you might have guessed by the topic’s name, is Rhodium. Rhodium is a silver-white metallic element that is highly reflective and resistant to corrosion. It is considered well above gold or silver as it is the most valuable, precious and rarest metal in the world. The name rhodium comes from the Greek word “rhodon,” meaning rose, named for the rose-red colour of its salts. Now, you may be thinking what is so interesting in rhodium and how it is so precious? Well, I am going to explain it to you. Rhodium is one of the six platinum group metals: platinum, palladium, rhodium, osmium, iridium and ruthenium. It is also classified as a noble metal, meaning th...

It became rich and powerful, ruling more than 50 million people around the world. For a long time, Rome was ruled by kings. It became a republic – a state without a king- after many years of fighting. The Roman Empire was the post-Republican period of ancient Rome. An army general called Octavian took power and became the first Roman emperor, bringing peace to Rome. Octavian also is known as Emperor Augustus Caesar became the first Roman emperor in 27 BC.   In the Roman Era, the Romans invented many things useful to mankind today such as; concrete, arches, aqueducts, etc. Do you know what are aqueducts? An aqueduct is an artificial channel for conveying water, typically in the form of a bridge across a valley or other gap. The Romans had also built the first-ever “s...
